FIRST WOMAN PRESIDENT - The ANC Women’s League is forging ahead with its push for a woman president, even if it means electing a sex worker, to succeed President Jacob Zuma as ANC president and head of state.

The league plans to raise the matter vigorously with ANC members at the party’s national general council, which kicks off tomorrow in Midrand, Gauteng.

They will also push for a 50/50 gender representation in almost all ANC structures.

ANCWL president Bathabile Dlamini said they never had a problem with electing someone who is a sex worker, and that they don't discriminate against people based on what job they do.

OPPOSITION VS MBETE - The Western Cape High Court dismissed an application by three political parties to get the Speaker of Parliament, Baleka Mbete, removed.

Agang, UDM and Cope wanted Mbete to be declared unfit and biased.

The parties say they are disappointed by the High Court's decision to dismiss their application, but will review the way forward.

REWARD IN BOZWANA CASE - The North West Business Forum is offering a R2 million reward for any information that leads to the conviction of Wandile Bozwana’s murderers.

Bozwana and a woman were shot when they stopped at a red light near the Menlyn shopping centre in Garsfontein last week. He later died in hospital.

Police are investigating another attempted murder case, after a business associate of Bozwana was also shot on the N1 in Garsfontein on Sunday.

RUGBY WORLD CUP - The match between the Springboks and the USA is set to kick off at 17:45, at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Stadium in London.

The Bokke can go to the top of their group if they beat the USA, but as Echbert Boezak reports, the weather conditions might force both teams to make a few changes to their game plan...
