16 Days: Cycling against abuse
Updated | By Olivia Phalaetsile
The founder of Brave Works Concepts, Lunga Ncala, will be cycling 1000 kilometers over the next two weeks in support of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children Campaign
The annual campaign kicks off on Saturday.
Ncala, who is a recovering drug addict, says he wants to help men have honest conversations.
"I want to show people that they can do it. I come from a life where I was destroying my body. Every day - for the next 16 days - I will be cycling to a different area until I reach Limpopo. In a lot of our communities its hard to have difficult conversations as men and I believe there is power in opening up and allowing yourself to feel."

Ncala says his campaign is aimed at encouraging men to have introspect - something he hopes will lead to transformation and a realisation of the impact of abuse.
"If my actions can change even one person's life and they are able to transform their life, I can stop riding on day 15. But for us its not just about 16 days of activism, we have vowed as Brave Works Concepts to focus on abuse and all social issues. We need to be dramatic and bold about how we tackle these issues."
