Lasizwe and Divan Laing, also known as 'Nomatricquency' and 'Drikie' from the hit YouTube series 'Living with Afrikaans', joined the Scenic Drive in 2020.
'Living with Afrikaans' is a hit web-series that follows a modern-day South African romance between the romantic 'Dirkie' – a young White Afrikaner, in case that wasn’t clear – and the lovely 'Nomatriquency', who is Zulu.

The series has even picked up loyal fans from as far as Denmark, America, Australia, and across the African continent at large!
It’s a lightly satiric look at who we are as South Africans, allowing us to laugh with each other around common misunderstandings and preconceptions. It is also a truly South African story of hope, as a young TV-and-film industry cast and crew have collaborated to bring it to life.

Thulasizwe Dambuza, better known as Lasizwe, has an arsenal of flamboyant characters that he uses to create hilarious content on the internet. Wearing his wigs, he brings these comical characters to life in a uniquely South African way. He was also the first African to have a reality show on MTV and was voted as the 'Most Influential South African of 2018' in the lifestyle category.
Divan Laing, aka 'Dirkie', is better known as Harry from '7de Laan'. He is a young, budding actor and, interestingly, he was the voice of the lead character from 'Swart Skaap', an Oscar-nominated Afrikaans Animation.
'Living with Afrikaans' started as a modest web-story but quickly caught the public’s imagination. These days it features on the YouTube trending tab every week and has amassed well over five-million views in total.
Tune in to the 'Scenic Drive with Rian', weekdays from 16:00-19:00. Stream the show live here or download our mobile app here.
