Joseph Ndlovu and Prudence Dick got engaged when Joe proposed after the 90km Comrades Marathon this year. On Tuesday, 30 August, Breakfast with Martin Bester organised an entire wedding in less than an hour!
2. When everyone's favourite guest, Devi Sankaree Govender, joined us in studio
Investigative journalist and South African icon Devi Sankaree Govender spoke to Breakfast with Martin Bester about her top stories of 2022.
Not only is she a favourite amongst South Africans, but she was also one of the Breakfast team's favourite interviews.

3. The Breakfast with Martin Bester on-air garage sale
During a spring clean-up, the Breakfast with Martin Bester team decided to get rid of a few items in and around the house.
Instead of just throwing household items away during the spring clean-up, the Breakfast team decided to have a 'garage sale' on-air.
4. When Joseph Clark performed Queen's 'Somebody To Love'
On Thursday, October 27th, the Breakfast with Martin Bester team celebrated all things British with a live performance and an authentic English high tea.
To help us celebrate the Best of British, singer Joseph Clark joined us in studio to perform his version of Queen's 'Somebody To Love'.
5. When Martin Bester and Juan Boucher wrote a song for Charlize Theron
South African musician Juan Boucher joined Breakfast with Martin Bester on Friday Live to perform his rendition of 'Dancing In The Dark' by Bruce Springsteen.
In response to actress Charlize Theron's claims that "Afrikaans is a dying language" and "there are about 44 people still speaking it", Juan Boucher and Martin Bester wrote a song.
6. When Martin Bester confessed to being a dunker
'Dunking' refers to "dipping a biscuit or other food in a liquid".
After a hefty discussion between the Breakfast with Martin Bester team and our listeners about whether dunking food is okay or not, Martin Bester confessed to being a dunker.

7. When we found Kutlwano Yika and Mia Kama, two buskers from Gauteng
After a photo of a local Johannesburg busker was shared on the Facebook group, 'I Love Fourways', Martin Bester spoke to the young man about his performances and being a busker in South Africa.

The talented young musician performed Cindy Lauper's 'Time After Time' on Friday Live on July 8th.
The Breakfast team reached out to yet another young busker, Mia Kama.
Mia Kama is spreading the joy and sharing her talent with the people of Gauteng! On Tuesday, August 23, she performed live on Breakfast with Martin Bester.

8. When Riana Nel wrote a song for one of our listeners.
Singer-songwriter Riana Nel joined Breakfast with Martin Bester on Friday, May 27th, where she performed her rendition of 'Fix You' by British rock band Coldplay on Friday Live.

During an interview with Nel, one of our listeners wrote in and asked the South African singer to write a song for her and her husband in an attempt to restore the love between them.
The emotional song left our listeners and the Breakfast team in tears.
9. Every moment of our trip to Seychelles
Although this year has had many great moments, it has come to a point where most South Africans feel the strain and fatigue of another rollercoaster year.

10. The entire Good Morning Angels Golf Day
The Good Morning Angels Golf Day took place on Friday, 23 September 2022, at the Irene Country Club.
The purpose of the event was to give as many Angels as possible the opportunity to help build the Good Morning Angels Fund NPC, in order to spread assistance and hope as far and wide as possible.

After all the numbers were crunched, the total raised for Good Morning Angels through the Good Morning Angels Golf Day was R2,511,855!
