'Carte Blanche' producer shares untold stories of the Hawks

Breakfast with Martin Bester spoke to investigative journalist and 'Carte Blanche' producer Graham Coetzer about his new book, 'Hunting with The Hawks'.
Graham Coetzer is an award-winning South African investigative journalist and television producer especially known for being a producer on the country’s renowned investigative journalism programme, 'Carte Blanche'.
Coetzer has been through many investigative adventures throughout his career and in his new book, 'Hunting with the Hawks', he takes readers through untold stories from South Africa's elite crime-fighting unit.

This book offers a rare glimpse into the secretive world of the Hawks, a branch of the South African Police Service which goes after South Africa's worst criminals.
On Monday, the award-winning journalist joined Breakfast with Martin Bester live in the studio to talk about his book along with former colonel, Gideon Jones, who has 19 years of experience working in the SAPS.
Jones, who is a good friend of Coetzer, headed up undercover operations for the SAPS and was used as an expert consultant in 'Hunting with the Hawks'.

While exposing the deviousness of South Africa's dangerous criminals, 'Hunting with the Hawks' is also an ode to the hard work and dedication of the best of our police service.
It is currently the number one best-selling non-fiction book in SA.
Graham Coetzer joined 'Carte Blanche' in 2009 and has produced stories exposing torture, fraud, scams, and corruption.
From covering tow truck wars to exposing rent-a-baby scams, Graham prefers to focus on the criminal underbelly of society.

He has worked as a producer/director across the African continent and was extensively involved in productions for the 'Carte Blanche' Oscar Pistorius Trial channel.
Coetzer has also been awarded with the National Press Club Journalist of the Year Award and was shortlisted for the prestigious Taco Kuiper Award, as well as the Global Shining Light Award.
