Are you looking for the cheapest days to fly between South Africa’s major cities? Look no further...
Discovery Bank recently released its SpendTrend24 report, compiled in collaboration with Visa, which breaks down South Africans' travel patterns and trends.
This report included the cheapest days and times to fly between three of South Africa's major cities; Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban.

According to Business Tech, South Africa's 'Golden Triangle' of Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Durban was the top location for local travellers.
In 2023, 33% of all domestic flight tickets purchased by Discovery clients were to Cape Town, 31% were purchased for Johannesburg, and 19% for Durban.
The trend of people moving from inland areas to cities along the Garden Route has also led to increased travel to East London, George, and Gqeberha, according to the report.
Prices are mainly affected by demand, which means travellers often pay much more to travel on popular days.

The report also gave great insight into the best days and times to travel between the major cities.

Cape Town to Johannesburg:
Cheapest day - Saturday
Most expensive day - Sunday
Cape Town to Durban:
Cheapest day - Wednesday
Most expensive day - Sunday

Most expensive day - Friday
Johannesburg to Durban:
Cheapest day - Tuesday
Most expensive day - Friday
Durban to Johannesburg:
Cheapest day - Wednesday
