Good Morning Angels: Community comes together for Hoërskool Driehoek victims’ families
The country was shocked by the news of a walkway collapse at Hoërskool Driehoek. This morning the community steps in to help.
BACKGROUND:
Friday, 1 February 2019, the country was shocked by the news of a walkway collapse at Hoërskool Driehoek in Vanderbijlpark as the children were leaving the morning assembly to go to their class rooms. Three pupils: Roydon Olckers, Jandré Steyn and Marli Currie died at the scene, with a fourth, Marnus Nagel perishing from his injuries two days later. 20 children are still being treated in various hospitals around Gauteng for serious injuries. Two of these injured school girls, 14-year-old Shamoné Steynvaart and 17-year-old Milindi Weber sustained back injuries and are being treated in the Wilgers Hospital in Pretoria. Representatives of the Hoërskool Waterkloof pupils and Jacaranda FM’s Good Morning Angels visited the girls in hospital on 5 February 2019. Mili, a matriculant, is expected to make a full recovery, although she has to wear a back brace and has weeks of recovery ahead. Grade 9, Shamoné, is still in ICU and received the news that she would not be able to walk again. She has weeks of rehab ahead at another Pretoria facility before she and her family will be able to return to Vanderbijlpark. Her mom, Charmaine says as a family, their lives changed forever ...

Ons almal is bewus van die groot tragedie wat by Driehoek Hoërskool in Vanderbijlpark gebeur het op 1 Februarie 2019. Daars 4 kinders oorlede. 26 kinders is hospitaal toe vervoer. 5 kinders en n mamma is kritiek. Ander le in hospitale en wag vir operasies. Van die kinders met minder ernstige beserings is al ontslaan. Daars BAIE van die ouers wat finansiele ondersteuning nodig het want dis n skielike uitgawe waarvoor hul nie begroot het nie van brandstof en verblyf in of Johannesburg, Pretoria, Alberton of Vereeniging want hul kinders is opgeneem in die hospitaal met beserings. Sommige kinders is kritiek ander nie. Daars ook drink en eetgoed wat gekoop moet word elke dag waar hul om hul kinders se beddens staan. Dan kom rehabilitasie en begrafnis onkostes ook nog by.
Kan Good Morning Angels dalk ook help? Ek glo dit sal baie help. Ons Vanderbijlparks en elders help almal waar ons kan en ons bly op ons kniee om vir daai gesinne te bid. Maar elke bietjie hulp wat hul kry help baie. Ons kort baie gebed

In die media, sosiale media en radio stasies was die skoknuus van die HOerskool driehoek in Vanderbijlpark tragedie waar 4 leerlinge oorlede is en talle beseer is.
Van heinde en verre stuur die nasie boodskappe.
Indien moontlik kan die Good Morning Angels dit asb oorweeg om die ouers finansiële ondersteuning te verleen of enige bydra van voedsel of brandstof of enige ander hulp kan verleen aan ouers van die kinders wat oorlede of beseer is.
Baie van die ouers ry op en af na die verskillende hospitale Alberton, Milpark en Pta en Emfuleni hospitaal.
Daar is ook 'n ma wat in n ernstige toestand is wat in n ongeluk was toe sy skool toe gejaag het toe sy nuus hoor.
Sy het 2 kinders wat in die skool is.
Dit sal opreg waardeer word.

Ons is almal bewus van die tragedie op 1 Februarie 2019. Daar is BAIE mense wat finansiële hulp nodig het. Van petrol tot kinders se begrafnisse en ander rehabilitasie.
Ons as ń Land staan saam en vra dat die Good Morning Angels GROOT asseblief sal inspring en help in die tyd van hartsverskeurende verlies.
Die hele land help waar hulle kan en ons bly op ons knieë.
