Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen celebrates South Africa at French restaurant

Michelin star chef Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen supports the South African wine industry at Nice restaurant in France.
Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen, chef and proprietor of Michelin-star restaurant JAN in Nice, joined Breakfast with Martin Bester on Tuesday morning.
The award-winning chef's creativity knows no bounds and teaches Europe to enjoy South Africa’s colourful traditional food.
JAN only serves South African tasting wines on the menu. This has meant a lot to the South African wine industry during the lockdown and especially during the alcohol ban.

Jan Hendrik admits that Pilotage is a favourite at JAN from Org de Rac, a wine farm in the Swartland. De Grendel’s Sauvignon Blanc and KWV is a firm favourite.
The chef from Middelburg serves a traditional South African ‘braaibroodjie’ with the pinotage and guests get to take a rusk home to enjoy with their coffee.
