Something that many might not know about the Grammy winner is that her name wasn't originally Miley.
According to E! News, Cyrus was actually born Destiny Hope Cyrus.
"She's a giver. She believes that we're all put here for a reason: to give back to our fellow man. I'm real proud of her," said her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.

Tyla also reported that the star was given this name after being born with supraventricular tachycardia, which causes an abnormal resting heart rate.
Her family nickname, however, was 'Smiley', as she often smiled as a child.
This was later shortened to Miley, which resulted in the star legally changing her name to Miley Ray Cyrus in 2008.
