Once used to emphasise what a person wants to say has now become a universal language on its own.
Emojis have allowed people to convey a wide range of emotions, reactions, and sentiments without saying a single word.
Recently, the number of emojis people can use has increased drastically with almost any emoji you can think of being available.

According to Crossword Solver, over 3,000 emojis are currently in use, but not all are used equally often.
Using the Twitter API, Crossword Solver used nine-million geotagged Tweets and used this data to compile the list of the most used emojis worldwide.
Based on their findings, the 'Face with tears of joy' emoji - š - is the most commonly used emoji in 75 countries.
This emoji was also the first emoji to be named Oxford's Word of the Year.

According to the Unicode Consortium, the 'Face with tears of joy' accounted for more than 5% of all emojis used in 2021.
South Africa was no different, as this emoji is also the most used in the country.
