A source close to the singer told NBC that she is "fine", adding: "This is overblown. She was expressing her freedom as she continues to do."
After the video garnered much attention, she soon updated the caption to inform people that the knives were not real.
"Don't worry they are NOT real knives!!! Halloween is soon," she said.
Although the knives were not real, the video still came across as quite dangerous and garnered a lot of attention online.
TMZ reported that Spears also has a fascination with knives, saying that after her conservatorship ended, those responsible for her care made a list of recommendations of things to keep away from her. Knives were one such item.
