South African musician Majozi joined Breakfast with Martin Bester to talk about his brand-new album and to perform his version of Will Linley’s 'Last Call'.
South African musician Majozi released his brand-new album, 'A Great Exchange', on Friday, 3 November 2023.
Majozi started writing the songs from the album just over two years ago - a process he describes as a journey of sharing creativity and allowing what has been on his heart to come out through his songs.

"I just wanted to be as honest as I could be in my writing, and approach each session with a blank page and allow the space for the music to write itself, with me just being a passenger along the way. What came out is up for listeners' own interpretation, but for me, I found that a lot of them were conversations with God and vice versa," says Majozi.
Friday also saw the release of Majozi’s fifth radio single for the year, 'Far Away'.
This fun sing-along track will serve as the perfect anthem for December and the summer holiday season.
"I think I had just come back from honeymoon and felt like writing about how awesome it is just to get out of the business of the world and go far away with someone you love. Ewald Jansen Van Rensburg came up with a beautiful melody for the chorus, and I enlisted the skills of the amazing Canadian, Levi Rowan, for some help on the verses," he says.
