Police have arrested one blue-light gang suspect in Walkerville, south of Johannesburg, after cloned police items, including a vehicle, were found.
According to an official statement by the office of the Provincial Commissioner of Gauteng, a 44-year-old suspect has been arrested after a cloned police vehicle was discovered on a property.
The arrest was made in Walkerville, Sedibeng District, in the south of Johannesburg.

An intelligence-driven operation led by JHB Crime intelligence and Soweto K9 unit members led to the discovery and, ultimately, the arrest of the 44-year-old suspect.
The items that were recovered include:
- A cloned marked Volkswagen Golf with police registration number plates and police call signs
- A white VW Polo fitted with blue lights and sirens
- One stolen R5 rifle and police reflector jackets
- Several SAPS number plates

"The suspect may be linked to robberies in Gauteng. Police believe that these vehicles were utilised during truck hijackings and courier vehicle robberies," said Gauteng Police spokesperson Noxolo Kweza.

"The suspect is expected to appear in court soon. Further arrests are possible as the investigation continues."
According to crime activist Yusuf Ambramjee, the possibility that "genuine cops" may be involved has not been ruled out.
