A firefighter on the scene of Princess Diana's fatal car crash revealed the last words she said before she died.
On 31 August 1997, the world came to a standstill when it was announced that Diana, the Princess of Wales, had died in a tragic car crash.
Princess Diana's tumultuous relationship with the royals and her eventual death made headlines across the world, and still today, many movies and documentaries revisit her life.
A new revelation regarding her death was made by a firefighter who was on the scene on the day of her death.
During an interview with The Sun, Xavier Gourmelon said that he thought he had saved her life after performing CPR on the then 36-year-old.

According to The Sun, Diana was conscious, and her eyes were open when Gourmelon pulled her from the wreck.
Moments later, she died from a cardiac arrest when she was placed on a stretcher.
Recalling the tragic moment, the firefighter said he held her hand and comforted her before she was taken out of the car.
"When I arrived, her eyes were open, and she was conscious," he said.
The firefighter then revealed that Princess Diana's last words before she died were:
My God, what's happened?- Diana, Princess of Wales
"I massaged her heart, and a few seconds later, she started breathing again.
"It was a relief, of course, because, as a first responder, you want to save lives - and that's what I thought I had done."

"To be honest, I thought she would live.
"As far as I knew, when she was in the ambulance, she was alive, and I expected her to live.
"But I found out later she had died in hospital. It was very upsetting."
Gourmelon only found out who the blonde victim was after she was put in an ambulance, and a fellow paramedic told him who it was.
