In 2019, a list of the most powerful militaries was released.
The ranking assesses the diversity of each country's weapons and pays particular attention to their available manpower. Geography, logistical capacity, available natural resources, and the status of the local industry are also considered.

Breakfast with Martin Bester weighed in on the list:
"We are not even surprised that South Africa didn't make the list," said Martin Bester.
"China must be second or third," Philicity Reeken added.
