VIDEO: BMW driver clocks 309km/h on highway

For reference, the modern Formula One carĀ can reach speeds of around 350km/h.
The current consensus among South African drivers is that the country's roads have become a lawless playground for some drivers.
From potholes to faulty robots to the lack of order on South African roads, one can see why frustrations surrounding the current state of South African roads are at an all-time high.
Despite numerous campaigns from Arrive Alive and The South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) urging road users to use South African roads safely and reduce speeding, it still hasn't sunk in for some people.

The latest road incident that has sent South Africans into a frenzy shows a BMW driver exceeding 300km/h.
A video of the incident, which was shared by MDN News on X, formerly known as Twitter, has garnered thousands of reactions and comments.

The video shows the passenger in the car filming the speedometer of the BMW M3, which reaches a speed of 309km/h.
He continues to film the driver and himself, seemingly enjoying the dangerous speed.

Not only is this an incredibly dangerous speed, it is also illegal.
According to MyBroadband, current South African speed limits areĀ 60km/h in built-up areas, 100km/h on main roads, and 120km/h on motorways.
