According to reports, the Fidelity cash-in-transit vehicle was unable to drive due to a mechanical failure.
One of the Fidelity guards was attempting to push the vehicle in order to start the vehicle when other bystanders started helping him.
Usually, this would have been the perfect opportunity for crime, but rather some faith was restored in South Africa.

According to News24, locals in Theunissen in the Free State helped the guards in need while one guard was pushing the vehicle with one hand and holding his rifle in the other.
