South African Deputy President Paul Mashatile might have accidentally announced this year’s election date.
South Africans have been waiting for the 2024 election date announcement, which many citizens agree holds strong significance as the country celebrates 30 years of democracy.
According to Jacaranda FM News, President Cyril Ramaphosa answered questions at the Cape Town Press Club on Thursday afternoon, where he spoke about the upcoming election.

The South African president reiterated that the announcement for the 2024 elections will be made within 15 days.
But, the announcement might have come earlier than many anticipated.
In a recent video shared on social media, Deputy President Paul Mashatile can be seen addressing the public when he had a slip of the tongue, accidentally announcing a possible election date.

Opposition parties have been vocal in their call for the president to announce a date as campaigning starts to ramp up ahead of the national and provincial elections, reports Jacaranda FM News.
