Updated | By Breakfast with Martin Bester
Roger Federer surprised a young fan with a tennis match five years after making a pinky promise to one day play against him.
During a press conference in 2017, young Izyan Ahmad aka Zizou asked tennis legend Roger Federer if he would one day play a match of tennis against him.
"Can you please continue to play for eight, nine years so that I can play you when I go pro?" the boy asked. Federer replied with a "Yes". "Is that a promise?" Ahmad again asked. "Pinky promise," the smiling Swiss said.

Now, five years later, Federer stuck to his "pinky promise". In a video that has now gone viral, the tennis legend surprised Zizou, who is also a tennis player, with a friendly game on the court.
Reportedly, Zizou was told that he was being taken to Zurich for training, but he had no idea that the entire thing was planned by Federer. In the video, the young boy is first seen arriving at a tennis court with his coach.
Soon, an "employee" of the tennis club approaches him, saying his manager is a big fan and would like to take a selfie with him. The woman then arrives and takes a photo with Zizou while revealing a t-shirt with his face on it. After the photo, a group of children start chanting Zizou's name and he is then led onto a tennis court by the club "employee".

With utter disbelief on his face, the young boy receives an even bigger surprise when Federer himself walks onto the tennis court. "All the young people watching you playing finally against a worthy opponent. Here is your surprise," said the club employee as Federer walked onto the court.
During the match, Federer can also be seen praising Zizou for his tennis abilities.
