Kidson recalls the traumatic event as she and her family were travelling home from Rustenburg to Brits on Saturday, 7 May 2022.
Whilst on the N4, near that R512 Randburg off-ramp, their car hit rocks that were placed in the road.
Kidson recalled her husband saying: "My wife, we are not safe. We can't stop now."
"He (Juandré) kept on driving as far as he could but had to stop before we reached the R512 offramp."

According to Kidson, her husband had no other option than to get out of the car to change the wheel of the car.
As Juandré attempted to change the wheel, three men approached the car, two from the right-hand side and one from the left.
"I was sitting in the car when I heard how he was busy fighting for our lives."
Johanette Kidson and her daughter were also forced out of the car, whereafter she and her husband were shot.
"They shot him in the head and I was shot in the shoulder."

Kidson lay on the ground after the shooting trying to protect and shelter her daughter from the criminals.
"I think something scared them off because they ran away. That is when I got up in search of help.
"I don't understand how you can just look at someone and shoot them?"
A R50,000 reward was offered for information on the case that could lead to the arrest of these criminals. This amount was later increased to R90,000 due to community members' contributions.
On Breakfast with Martin Bester on Monday, Retha Ingenbleek from Spar also pledged R20,000 as part of the reward for information that will lead to the arrest of these criminals.
