Another 43 Covid-19 deaths, Health Ministry announces

The Health Ministry on Tuesday evening announced another 43 deaths from Covid-related illnesses.
This takes the total number of fatalities to 542.
There were also another 649 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, with the national toll on 24 264 confirmed cases.
In a statement, the Department of Health says 12 741 patients have recovered from the virus.
A total of 605 991 tests have been conducted to date with 9 214 tests done in last past 24-hour testing cycle.
“As a country, we are now facing a challenge with the global shortage of testing reagents. We understand it is becoming a challenge to many other countries,” Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says.
“We are, however, continuing our efforts to secure these reagents from different suppliers all over the world.”
