Children of Free State health care worker with COVID-19 in self-quarantine

Minister of health, Zweli Mkhize has confirmed that two children of a health care worker who tested positive for the COVID-19 Coronavirus are in self-quarantine.
“Since the children did develop symptoms they have been taken into quarantine and tested and we are waiting for the results,” says Mkhize
Mkhize was speaking in Bloemfontein where he met with Free State government officials to discuss the first cases in the province.
He earlier visited the Brandwag Primary School where the screening of about 600 pupils took place.
The health care worker who tested positive for the Coronavirus is a parent at the school.

Mkhize said the health care worker has no history of international travel but works in a number of private hospitals.
He added that the process of identifying all the people who have been with her has begun.
“We have identified a number of patients that she looks after and they will be treated as the first set of contact and be screened and tested,” says Mkhize.
