SA coronavirus infections breach 400 000 mark

The number of Covid-19 infections in South Africa surpassed the 400 000 mark on Thursday evening.
The country now has 408 052 coronavirus cases, an increase of 13 104 within the 24 hours leading up to Thursday evening.
The provinces with the most number of infections remain Gauteng, the Western and Eastern Cape.

Despite the huge number of infections, the country’s recovery rate has increased to 58%.
The total number of recoveries now stand at 236 260.
In his latest daily report, Health Minister Zweli Mkhize confirmed that a further 153 people have died virus-related deaths.
The cumulative number of deaths has increased to 6 093.
