The number of people who have lost their lives to COVID-19 in the country now stands at 25.

The latest statistics were released by the Minister of Health, Zweli Mkhize, on Saturday night.
The minister also revealed that the number of people who tested positive has increased to 2028, while 75 053 tests have been conducted.
"The deceased patient is a 61-year-old male from the Western Cape", said Mkhize.
"His underlying medical conditions included diabetes, hypertension and obesity."
The minister also expressed concern over the high death toll in KwaZulu Natal, where more than six patients have died from a single institution.
KZN has a high death toll, more than 6 patients have died from one institution. We need to get into why this is so. We have now decided the hospital needs to be closed down and an investigation needs to be launched.

Mkhize once again expressed his gratitude for health workers working under challenging circumstances.
"I think we need to appreciate all the hard work the health workers are doing during this time", said Mkhize.
"A large number have been assisted and screened. Those displaying symptoms are being tested."
