Covid-19 death toll increases to 153 in South Africa

The number of South Africans who have lost their lives to Covid-19 has increased from 148 to 153 over the 24 hours until Wednesday.
The Ministry of Health confirms in a statement that two people from the Western Cape died, one from Limpopo and two in KwaZulu Natal.
The new death in Limpopo brings the total number of deaths in the province to three.
The Western Cape is still the hardest hit area in the country with 73 lives lost, followed by KwaZulu-Natal with 38 deaths.
Health minister, Zweli Mkhize, says in the statement the number of confirmed cases in the country now stands at 7808.
