SA's Covid-19 deaths top 11 000

The number of Covid-19 related deaths in South Africa has surpassed 11 000.
As of Wednesday night, statistics released by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize show that 11 010 people have succumbed to complications from the deadly virus.
The Western Cape still accounts for the most number of deaths at 3 485, followed by Gauteng at 2 761 and the Eastern Cape at 2 332.

The cumulative number of Covid-19 cases now stands at 568 919 - with recoveries standing at 432 029.
The country’s recovery rate has further increased to 75.9%.
