#Covid19inSA claims 19 lives in 24 hours

The latest figures released by the Ministry of Health show that 19 people died of coronavirus in South Africa in the 24 hours leading up to Thursday evening.

This has pushed the country’s Covid-19 death toll to 238.
The Western Cape has the highest number of fatalities at 129, followed by KwaZulu-Natal at 44 and the Eastern Cape at 31.
Health Minister Zweli Mkhize has expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and thanked the health care workers who treated the patients.
The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in South Africa now stands at 12 739.
