DA: Residents in high-risk areas must undergo Covid-19 testing
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The Democratic Alliance (DA) has welcomed a call for Members of Parliament to test for Covid-19.

The DA’s Siviwe Gwarube says the party is happy that community testing and screening has started in various parts of the country.
“This community testing is directed at vulnerable communities and informal settlements, to make sure we are able to screen and test as many South Africans as possible.
“So it is important that as many South Africans get tested. South Africa is slowly making sure that we are clearing the backlog of making sure we are testing as many people as possible.”
She says since the country doesn’t have enough testing kits and health personnel, those with coronavirus must be prioritised.
“It is important that we start to clamp down on this pandemic as soon as possible, we only do that by making sure that people present with symptoms and those people are at high risks are tested as soon as possible.”
