Fita could appeal ruling on tobacco products
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
The Fair-Trade Independent Tobacco Association (Fita) says it is considering the possibility of launching an appeal against the ruling on the sale of tobacco products during the lockdown.

The High Court in Pretoria on Friday dismissed with costs an application by the Fita to have government's ban on the sale of tobacco products overturned.
The association's Sinenhlanhla Mnguni says they are obviously very disappointed in the ruling.
"We as an organisation are disappointed by the ruling of the Pretoria High Court concerning the application to have the ban on the sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products lifted.
“We were confident given the argument which was put forward by our legal team and we believe that it was quite a strong argument.”
He says they are still in the process of studying the judgment and consulting with their legal team.
"That includes the possibility of an appeal of the ruling of the Pretoria High Court.”
