The Gauteng Department of Health has confirmed that the province’s only coronavirus patient has been discharged from the Charlotte Maxeke Hospital.
The 29-year-old woman tested positive on Saturday and is one of seven cases in South Africa.
All seven cases are all part of the group of 10 who travelled to Italy for a ski holiday, together with the 38-year-old man from Pietermaritzburg, who was the first person to test positive.

The department's spokesperson Kwara Kekana says, as per the World Health Organisation's guidelines, the patient has been discharged and will now self-isolate.
"It suggests that she was ready to go home. She will continue self-isolation. This is the report we are getting from her treating doctor and the NCID team together with ourself will continue to also engage to monitor her form time to time as per the guidelines.”
