Gauteng remains coronavirus epicentre

Gauteng remains the province with the most confirmed cases of coronavirus.

The provincial health department released a breakdown of cases per region on Tuesday.
Johannesburg is the epicentre of the outbreak in Gauteng's with 551 positive cases.
The Sedibeng and West Rand districts have the least amount of positive Covid-19 cases, with 6 and 35 respectively.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng sits at 909 with 62 people receiving treatment in various hospitals around the province.
Gauteng Health’s Kwara Kekana says most coronavirus cases have not needed hospitalisation.
"Out of the people that were confirmed positive there are 399 recoveries in the province. The department is also happy to report that out of 5 625 contacts, people who came into contact with a Covid-19 positive case, 1694 have been discharged and have now been cleared.”
