Grayston Preparatory School in Johannesburg will resume teaching and learning on Wednesday.

The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) says the school will first undergo deep cleaning on Tuesday.
This comes after the school released a notice to parents, stating that a staff member had been in direct contact with a person who tested positive with COVID-19.
“The staff member remains in self-isolation and is in good health,” reads a statement released by the school on Monday.

The department’s spokesperson Steve Mabona says they will be in constant talks with health officials.
“Just to take guidance on how to move with this situation that they are facing. They will be going back to school on Wednesday.”
The school reiterated that their staff, children and parents are at most secondary or tertiary contacts and the risk contracting the virus is therefore low.
Grayston Preparatory School has also undertaken to educate pupils on personal hygiene.
