South Africa had 2506 positive cases of coronavirus on Wednesday with 34 deaths.

Mkhize said 94 000 people have been tested for coronavirus.

“We can never say we have done enough, we have 60 million people, it will take us a long time to finish so many people.

“As long as there are people to be tested, we will continue testing and so we are doing our very best. I believe the health workers have done everything they can to speed up things.”

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a mass screening and testing campaign at the end of last month, with 10,000 field workers set to go door-to-door across the country to screen residents for symptoms.
