More than half of SA coronavirus cases are women

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has released the latest COVID-19 pandemic statistics, showing 54.7% of confirmed cases are women.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases across the country has increased by 142 and now stands at 3300.
The ministry of Health says in a statement that the death toll has also increased – to 58 people.
The country has seen 1055 recoveries.
Gauteng has the highest number of confirmed cases at 1170, the Western Cape is still under the one thousand mark with 940, followed by KwaZulu-Natal at 639.
About 67% of the coronavirus test total of 121 510 were conducted at private medical facilities and the others at public health facilities.
