[WATCH]: Ndabeni-Abrahams apologises for lockdown lunch
Communications Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams has issued a public apology for violating the country’s lockdown regulations.
The minister’s apology follows a decision by President Cyril Ramaphosa to place her on special leave for two months.
One of the two months will be unpaid leave.

Ramaphosa’s decision to censure the minister comes amid mounting calls for her to be axed following her apparent disregard for the lockdown regulations after she was snapped having lunch with former Deputy Minister for Higher Education Mduduzi Manana.

In a video, a remorseful Ndabeni-Abrahams says she regrets her actions.
"Fellow South Africans, I would like to convey an apology to President Cyril Ramaphosa, the national command centre and the South African society at large for breaching the lockdown rules put in place to curb the spread of Covid-19.
"I regret the incident and am deeply sorry for my actions. I hope the president and you South Africans will find in your hearts to forgive me.”
Ndabeni-Abrahams added that she will abide by the conditions of the special leave.
