Parents with joint custody given green light to move children
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
Government has amended regulations under the Disaster Management Act to allow parents with joint custody to move children between homes.

Children can now live with both parents while the lockdown continues as long as the necessary paperwork was completed.
The amendments were effective from Tuesday.
As part of previous lockdown regulations, parents were not allowed to swap children to minimise movement and the risk of increasing the spread of the coronavirus.

he new regulations stipulate that to move the child between homes, parents must have a court order where the parental responsibilities and rights agreement registered with the family advocate is outlined.
Secondly the house the child is moving to must be coronavirus free and the parents transporting the child must have a copy of the official visitation agreement.
