Western Cape Premier Alan Winde in self-isolation
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Western Cape Premier Alan Winde has entered a week of self-quarantine.
Winde is self-isolating after he came into contact with eNCA cameraman Lungile Tom, who passed away from the virus.
Winde says he came into contact with the cameraman during an interview last Thursday and even though masks and sanitisers were used at the event, he is also taking additional caution to self-isolate.
"I will continue to do exactly what I have been doing during the lockdown, making sure we are managing the new strategy dealing with hotspots," says Winde.
Winde was set to meet with President Cyril Ramaphosa on Friday to discuss the coronavirus outbreak in the province.
Ramaphosa has since postponed his visit to the Western Cape.
