Giving nine-year-old with genetic condition new hope to stay in school
Updated | By Breakfast with Martin Bester
Good Morning Angels assisted nine-year-old Juané Mulder with the R75,000 needed for her new hearing apparatus to enable her to stay in her school and reach her full potential in the classroom.
Juané Mulder is nine years old and passionate about school. She and her twin sister are in Laerskool Kenmare in Krugersdorp. Juané was born with a genetic condition that affects her hearing and eye-sight.
She finds it difficult to hear in class and noisy environments. Her hearing is deteriorating, but there is a special FM hearing receiver available, that will assist her tremendously. The cost of this device is however a staggering R90,000!
The Kenmare School community has been raising funds in all sorts of creative ways, to help her - and so far they have managed to get together R15,000. They have another R75,000 to go and that’s why the Kenmare School Community reached out to Good Morning Angels for assistance.

"Dear Good Morning Angels
I am a Grade 12 learner and will really love for Good Morning Angels to give a helping hand to this little 9-year old girl, Juané Mulder. We received this foto of her reaching out for help form the school. I immediately thought of the Angels that will really be able to help this girl. I wish I could do so much more, but doing the best I can is giving her in the hands of those who can help even more.
This touched my heart very deeply as I am so passionate about children, especially those with challenges.
Thank you, Jacaranda. Hope you can help to give this beautiful girl a chance for a hearing aid.
Regards,
Diane van Niekerk".
