GMA Coronavirus Support: Helping teacher Dempsey care for school families in need
The national lockdown is hitting HTS Witbank in Emalahleni hard and Good Morning Angels and LottoStar are here to help.
BACKGROUND: Vanessa Dempsey is a dedicated teacher at HTS Witbank in Emalahleni. She runs a school feeding project for children who are from families in desperate need. During the school term, the children get sarmies and meals at school and then also get hampers of food to take home. The food and essentials for this feeding project are donated by other parents and the school does a collection of non-perishables once a term. Because the national Coronavirus lockdown meant that schools closed earlier and for much longer than expected, teacher Dempsey could not get enough food supplies together to stock-up these families in need. She put a call for help on Facebook and one of the four people who responded also asked Good Morning Angels to help Teacher Dempsey with her labour of love.

They are supporting 7 families and 4 of them are critical at the moment.
