Good Morning Angels: Divorce left single dad struggling to keep it together for his children
The lockdown has brought about many
financial needs, but for Günter, the one thing he simply cannot afford is the
children’s school fees.
BACKGROUND: Günter is the proud dad of 12-year-old Caitlyn and 10-year-old Lourens. He is a car salesman and works for commission. Lockdown meant no work, no pay and he only returned to work last month. He also had to stay home with his children, as his wife moved out during lockdown and there was no one else who could look after his children. Like so many single parents, Günter lives and works for his children. The lockdown has brought about many financial needs, but for Günter, the one thing he simply cannot afford is the children’s school fees. He feels embarrassed to ask for help, but decided that he would sacrifice his pride, rather than disadvantage his children’s already difficult school year.

Good afternoon angels.
With this it is a huge shame that I am to this point that I need to ask for assistance.
I have never been in such a financial position. There has been a couple of circumstances that have gone backwards so badly.
I had to take off work from the first time the schools closed due to Covid in March. I work on a commission basis with small basic. But unfortunately no work no pays and UIF only paid out once about R3 300. I started in August again with the first full month again. But the financial damages have already been done.
Due to certain circumstances I am then only parent looking after my children and responsible for all Financials.
I will make a plan with other debt that has to be paid, but the one I am asking for help is my two beautiful children's school fees to be assisted with. I have fallen behind and are facing a threat that they will be refused to be allowed in. I have made payments as I could, but I can’t manage it all. I am currently behind with R13 697.00. I don't know how will I settle this.
My children Caitlyn (12) and Lourens (10) is my everything in life and I just want them to stay in school and make a success of this terrible year.
As I mentioned before. This is a huge humiliation to ask for something. But I need to see that my children are cared for.
