Good Morning Angels: Helping a mom back on her feet to care for her six children
Updated | By Breakfast with Martin Bester
It's the Good Morning Angels Festive Edition 2022 with Roman's Pizza! On Tuesday, we assisted Elisa Molaba after numerous setbacks left her unable to walk and caring for six children.
BACKGROUND: Elisa Molaba from Johannesburg has had a very challenging year, to say the least. She started 2022 as a mother of three boys, working hard to support them. She is also an avid runner and even got her boys to participate with her.
Early in the year, she lost her sister - a shock for the family - leaving her sister’s three children destitute. Overnight, Elisa became the mother of six children.
In the same month, she was in a road crash with an unlicensed, uninsured driver. While she was dealing with this, she lost her job and then the final straw - while Elisa was running in a race, she stepped into a pothole and broke her leg. She has been struggling with mobility since.

ORIGINAL REQUEST:
Good day Angels,
I am writing to request assistance for a friend and former colleague. Her name is Elisa Molaba, she lives in Johannesburg. She is a runner; she loves running with all her heart and even got her sons involved in running. She is a mother of 3 boys. Early this year, her sister passed away leaving her three children. She then took them in, and automatically became a mother of 6. The same month that she lost her sister, she got involved in an accident with a driver who didn’t have a driver’s license or insurance and left her car damaged. Over and above that she lost her job. Whilst she was fighting to get her job back, during one of the races, she ran into a pothole and broke her leg.

She is now not able to walk, or to move around the house. Her leg cannot bend, it has to be straight all the time during the recovery period, which can take up to a year or more. The main thing that she needs right now is the wheelchair that can allow her leg to be straight and enable her to move around the house.
That’s my humble request from the angels.
Thank you,
Mamolefe Neo Segakweng
