Good Morning Angels: Lordwick is well on track to his intended future

BACKGROUND: At the end of 2018, we had the privilege of meeting an exceptional young man, Lordwick Kgatle. He had completed his first year of business management studies, after funding himself by recycling dustbin trash, washing cars, doing garden work and cutting hair. Despite juggling long hours of working with going to class and studying hard - Lordwick was R8 000,00 short on his first-year tuition fees without which, he would not have been able to write his final exams for the year. Lordwick wrote to Good Morning Angels for assistance as he had run out of options: “Without the outstanding amount, I won’t be able to complete my first year. This would mean I've worked hard for nothing.” 

Lordwick’s sheer determination, dignity and focus touched us all. Roman’s Pizza paid Lordwick’s outstanding fees, as well as his 2019 tuition fees in full, with some cash to spare for other essentials. An anonymous listener also deposited R8000,00 in his bank account - and then, yet another listener came forward… with a promise to fund his third year, as long as Lordwick stays on track. Lordwick finished his second year, with a very respectable average, not the distinctions he had hoped for, but a very comfortable pass.

This morning, we catch up with Lordwick, as he starts his third and final year of Business Administration studies.

SPONSORING: Willie Marais will sponsor Lordwick’s 3rd and final year tuition fees. Willie initially promised an R10 000,00 incentive bonus if Lordwick passed with an average of 75%, however, Willie will give Lordwick the incentive bonus anyway, to help him on his way for the final stretch of his studies.
