Good Morning Angels supports DJ Jazzy D’s goal to feed 67,000 people on Mandela Day 2020
Updated | By Breakfast with Martin Bester
#GMAMandelaDay is calling on listeners and clients from all over SA - and further afield, to make donations towards this initiative.
“The need has never been greater,” is the reality in our country, as we approach the 11th celebration of International Mandela Day this coming Saturday, 18 July 2020. The most basic of needs for thousands of families at this time remains food.
Good Morning Angels is supporting Jacaranda FM’s own DJ Jazzy D with his goal of providing a healthy, hot meal to 67,000 people across the country on Mandela Day.
Through our #GMACoronaVirusSupport and Kagiso Media Hunger Relief, Jacaranda FM has assisted thousands of families in need over the past three months. DJ Jazzy D has been doing the same. Together with the help of our listener family, we hope to reach as many people as possible on Saturday, 18 July.

This is how you can be part of this labour of love, to bring food and dignity to those who need it most, while celebrating Madiba’s legacy:
Mandela Day is usually marked by performing 67 minutes of service in the community, to represent the 67 years that Madiba actively worked to bring about social justice for all.
This year, due to the Covid-19 restrictions and current infection spike in Gauteng, we are asking you to convert your 67 minutes into a donation of R67.
For every R67, four people will receive a meal! The more you donate, the more people will benefit.
To donate, visit www.jacarandafm.com and click on the donate button, powered by Unity.
If you are a corporate or business and you would need an invoice for your donation, please email [email protected]. We will gladly assist.
It’s in our hands.
Two generous donors kicked off the donations on Breakfast with Martin Bester:
The Round Table Pretoria will donate R13,400 - that’s 200 x R67 - enough to feed 3,350 people.
Goldwagen, a supplier of vehicle parts, will donate R20,000 towards #GMAMandelaDay - enough to feed 1,194 people
Anton Prinsloo from PSG Wealth will donate R 5 000 - that’s 298 meals
André Andre Minnie COO of Duple will donate R 5000 - that’s 298 meals
As of 14 July at 08:30 we have received donations of R 99 704.
