Mom shot while pregnant gets Angel help this festive season

Good Morning Angels and Pick n Pay came to the aid of Aneesa Kaynie, who was shot while six months pregnant with her five-year-old miracle daughter, Imani.

Five-year-old Imani Kaynie is truly a miracle.

Her mom, Aneesa, was six months pregnant with Imani when she was shot in the stomach during a drive-by shooting in Eldorado Park, Gauteng.

Aneesa was rushed to the hospital, where both her life and baby Imani's life were saved.

Imani was born at 38 weeks and has fought hard to overcome the challenges she has faced since then.

She has encountered several health issues and is no stranger to hospital visits. Imani has cerebral palsy, likely due to a lack of oxygen during Aneesa's life-saving surgery.

Last December, Imani suffered multiple organ failure and was hospitalised for four months.

Once again, she defied the odds and fought her way back to health.

Aneesa's life has also been filled with challenges. In 2021, she was retrenched due to the pandemic and later lost her car in a serious road accident. She also lost her mother a few years ago, which left her solely responsible for caring for little Imani.

Despite all the hardship and being a single mom, Aneesa manages to keep everything together for Imani and her 12-year-old daughter, Skylar, whom she describes as an absolute joy and straight-A student.

Aneesa's friend Laura helped her secure a new job and assists where she can. However, Laura reached out to Good Morning Angels on behalf of this remarkable little family for some respite and support this festive season.

ORIGINAL REQUEST:

Good Morning Angels,

Please help my friend Aneesa.

Aneesa was six months pregnant when she was shot in the stomach in a freak accident. Imani was such a fighter and was born prematurely — a total joy and blessing to her mother! Imani has not been without challenges and has been in and out of the hospital most of her life. Nevertheless, she is so strong and refuses to give up, which is why we love her so much!

I have helped Aneesa find a full-time job (she was retrenched during COVID). However, Imani requires special food, physical therapy, and 24/7 care, which is costly. I am reaching out for any assistance at all.

Aneesa lost her mother a few years ago and does her best with the little support she has. I wish I could do more for this family, as they are a true inspiration to me and a testament to the purpose of life and love.

Financial aid for food and full-time care for Imani, as well as a much-needed pamper day for Aneesa and her eldest child, is my wish for them!

Regards,
Laura
