Tshepang Serasengwe is the daughter of Portia, a domestic worker. Her mother is a proud and hard worker, and so is Tshepang.
Her humble beginnings inspired her to grab the chance to study after matric - and she completed a B.Com Degree last year, with the help of a NSFAS State Bursary.
Now, Tshepang has her eye on an honours degree in Statistics - which is not eligible for state funding. Also, NSFAS has paid R10 000 short on her 2023 fees and she cannot access her results, or attend her graduation, without paying the shortfall.
Her mom, Portia cannot afford this and that’s why her employer, Sharon Shawe wrote to Good Morning Angels, for assistance with this bright student’s dream of achieving an Honours Degree.

ORIGINAL REQUEST:
Good morning,
My helper Portia's daughter, Tshepang Serasengwe finished her degree in economics in December 2023. She studied with the assistance of NSFAS, but NSFAS has not paid R9000.Tshepang needs the R9 000 to be paid before the university will allow her to attend the graduation ceremony later this year.
Furthermore, Tshepang would like to do her honours degree this year, but needs financial assistance.
This is a young lady has obtained very good marks and excelled. She is eager to learn and better herself and her situation.
Her mother is a helper and her earnings are not enough to support her daughter.
I myself have a daughter doing her PGDA this year studying to become a CA and I am not able to assist either.
Any assistance would be appreciated for this matter.
Thank you for taking time to read my email.
Kind regards
Sharon Shawe
