Three-year-old Sian is on the road to recovery and could be going home soon!
Last week on Good Morning Angels, we met Charné Brits, mother of three-year-old Sian. At that stage, he was fighting for his life in hospital, with doctors still baffled about his diagnosis and treatment of his worsening lung condition. “At this point, we are fighting to keep him stable,” said Charné.
The family were also battling financially to keep Sian in a private hospital. They do not currently have a medical aid, but Sian’s condition was also not treatable in a state hospital.

After Good Morning Angels and our friends at the Caring Daisies got the fundraising ball rolling with donations of R50,000 each towards Sian’s medical treatment, Jacaranda FM listeners opened their hearts and wallets to assist this family in their time of need.
“I received thousands of messages of support and so many donations,” shares Charné.
But, more importantly, Sian’s condition has improved dramatically, to the point that he could be going home by the weekend.

Sian is receiving medical treatment and different kinds of therapy, including psychological assistance to deal with the trauma of his health ordeal.
He seems to be through the worst and he is getting stronger by the day. “Sian can sit up by himself and he is eating again. I can only describe it as a miracle from God”.
