Good Things Guy's most popular podcasts for 2020
Updated | By JacPod
We take a look at the top three most popular podcasts for 2020 on Brent Lindeque's JacPod channel, Good Things Guy.
# 3
In third position for 2020, was a podcast that was
not linked to COVID-19 at all, but all about the popular social media app,
TikTok. The podcast went live on Good Things Guy in July of this year.
TikTok was launched four years ago by the Chinese Internet tech company, ByteDance, and has fast become one of the world's most widely-used social media apps. It's a video-sharing social networking service which is used to create short comedy, talent, dance and lip-sync videos.
Kirsty Bisset - a digital marketing expert and serial tech entrepreneur - had tweeted a serious article earlier this year about how Amazon asked all employees to remove TikTok from their phones and Brent Lindeque needed to understand this, so he invited Kirsty to join the show.

# 2
Rewind to May when Brent tracked down, and spoke to Kim Nicola Stephens, a woman who was fast becoming Brent’s favourite author during South Africa’s COVID-19 Level 4 lockdown. How? By adding a touch of much-needed humour to an otherwise bleak and tragic situation.
Kim had written about the top 10 middle-class quarantine categories; she’d given a really funny depiction of how confusing Level 4 was; she’d written about the beautiful truths of the 'burbs during the lockdown; the runners versus smokers debacle and how everyone in South Africa had suddenly become an expert on nearly everything.
“South Africans have a way of getting through the toughest times, usually with a side dish of humour, and these quarantine stories might be the funniest things you will read,” said Brent at the time.

In first position for 2020, South African author, futurist and strategy consultant, Graeme Codrington, put out a simple question on social media at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March this year, which added a different perspective.
Codrington had been very vocal about the coronavirus and what it meant for South Africa, but the simple question he posted on Facebook, added that different perspective so early on when people were panicking: “A crisis can bring out the best in us. What positive stories have you heard since Covid-19 hit?”
Codrington joined Brent Lindeque via a video call - a first for the Good Things Guy podcast (but by no means the last, given this year!) about 10 days before South Africa entered our first hard lockdown. It was the one that was meant to last 21 days.
The conversation continues to get listens right up until today. For a look at where we began on this COVID-19 journey, take a listen.
