Connie Ferguson remembers Shona on their 20th anniversary

"Today I’m not okay…."
Twenty years ago on this day Connie and Shona Ferguson tied the knot.
Sadly, Shona is no longer alive to celebrate this day. He passed away on 30 July 2021 from COVID-19-related complications.
Connie took to Instagram to share how painful celebrating the anniversary without her husband is.
"This day 20 years ago. 4 months without you Sho. Today I’m not okay," she wrote on Instagram.

Words of comfort
Many of Connie's followers sent her words of comfort.
Amongst those who comforted Connie include celebrities like Ayanda Ncwane and Siba Mtongana.
"His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches over you! You are the apple of God’s eye Connie, and He holds you ever so tenderly in His loving arms and today we all stand in prayer with you and for you. Love you my friend," wrote Basetsana Khumalo.
"Strength to you my sis. The love lives on forever," wrote actor Trevor Gumbi.
"Ohhhh babe Askies. All will be well with time we are here for you," wrote media personality and businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize.

Shona and Connie's love life
The couple met in 2001. They were married less than six months after meeting.
Connie and Shona have two children, Connie’s daughter from her first marriage Lesedi Matsunyane-Ferguson and Alicia Angel Ferguson.
The couple founded Ferguson Films, which has produced award-winning films.
Connie has described their love as "a once in a lifetime kind of love".
The actress said her husband's passing has left a void.
"You and I were joined at the hip, now I feel completely off-balance, incomplete, without my other half! My SOULMATE!”
