Expert advice to help you achieve your New Year’s resolutions
Updated | By ThriveIn
Motivational speaker Pandora Mabai has three tips to help you achieve your 2019 goals.
Making New Year's resolutions is a tradition at the beginning of every year. That is because a new year offers a fresh start and an opportunity to do things that little bit better.
However, without proper planning and giving careful thought to your resolutions, you may be setting yourself up for failure.
We spoke to motivational speaker Pandora Mabai on how to best ensure you accomplish your goals for this new year.
Don’t follow the crowd
Whether you want to change careers, start a business, make more money, lose weight or quit certain habits, have a clear purpose for setting goals.
“Understand why you have that resolution in the first place,” says Pandora. She warns that you don’t just set out New Year’s resolutions because “everyone else is”.
Be true to yourself
Pandora says it’s important that you are true to yourself.
“Be true to what makes you happy. If you focus on yourself and what makes you happy, there’s no way you won’t strive to achieve what you set out.”
Set achievable goals
“Always have goals and resolutions that are achievable,” otherwise you will be setting yourself up for failure, warns Pandora.
Avoid setting up too many goals, and make sure you plan how you will achieve your resolutions. Proper planning can be the difference between success and failure.
