Meanwhile, self-made billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Vivian Reddy, says it was an inspiring meeting in 1971 with American astronaut Neil Armstrong, who w the first person to walk on the Moon in 1969, that set him on a course to reach for the stars.
The Durban-born founder of Edison Power and youngest of nine children was another recent guest on The Money Podcast. He shared his views on everything from life in South Africa and religion to money and success.
“I’m the youngest of nine children. We lived in a very humble place… a three-bedroom house in Greenwood Park and my Dad was a school teacher earning R30 a month. I sometimes think ‘how did he do it!’” he tells Justin Harrison, adding: “I’ve been through it all but I’ve learned lessons in life.”
